Going for the Gold...

So I've been prepping for the Vancouver Olympics for the last seven years and now it's almost here....

On July 2nd, 2003, Vancouver won the bid for the Olympics and right then I booked my accommodations at my friend Marion's house. Now seven years later many people would have conveniently "forgot" about our agreement, but not Marion. She has turned away offers of oodles and oodles of cash for my room...but don't tell Hani that.

At the same time, I also booked the time off work. I didn't really think it was necessary as my track record for living in one place or staying at a job generally peaks at about 5 years...but I did it just in case. And here it is seven years, six houses and two jobs later...but I'm still at Western and I still have my holidays booked!!

So on February 10th...I'm off to the Olympics!!! (As a side note, there have been a couple of times that I've said I'm going to the Olympics and the person has responded, "What event are you in?".... lol...)

While I'm there, I'll be volunteering at the Curling events..."Sweep, Sweep!!" and heading out to a few other events as well... They have us working 8 to 10 hour shifts, 12 days straight so hoping I'll be able to steal some time away to update my blog!!!

Hoping for snow...
