On the way up, it was like a winter wonderland with the biggest snowflakes falling. Finally, some snow at the Olympics!! This amused Danielle for the first 5 minutes but the novelty wore off soon. It turned out to be over an hour hike up the mountain to get to the venue... (it might have not been so bad if we hadn't gotten soaked in the rain in Vancouver)
Once we got to the top, it was quite amazing. I had no idea that biathlon was such an exciting sport to watch. The German fans were crazy and loud but for good reason as they won the gold!

Check out some of the live action..
At the top, I ran into some of the ice carvers that I met while at the Canada Games in the Yukon in 2007...Small World...

The hike down was not as bad...and then we headed off to Whistler Village for a little sightseeing and shopping... At the rings, they have made a makeshift memorial for Nodar Kumaritashvili, the Georgian Luger.
And the gold medal goes to... (drumroll please!)
They asked me to join the Canadian Bobsled team but I told them no, as my thighs are big enough and that is without even trying...
A sleepy bus ride down the mountain got us home just in time for the Victory Ceremony...We got to see Canadian Snowboarder, Mike Robertson get his silver medal...
And of course we ended the night with some Pageless Barenaked Ladies...
Just another day in the life of the Burlock Sisters...
